I have been studying for the priesthood with the Society of Jesus, a Roman Catholic religious order also known as the Jesuits, since 8/14/05. I pronounced perpetual vows (poverty, chastity, obedience) on 8/15/07, feast of the Assumption. For Jesuits, the course of studies before ordination lasts 10-12 years. Prior to entering religious life, I worked for two years as a newspaper reporter. I graduated in 2003 from all-male Wabash College, where I read history and political science.
